The Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies, and supporting the Group's financial operations across its DFSA and FCA regulated entities.

Location: DIFC, Dubai, UAE
Position Type: Full Time, Fixed-Term (Maternity Cover)
Duration: Late September to early October 2026 start, running until the end of April or May 2027
Role Overview
This is a fixed-term maternity cover position based in our DIFC office in Dubai. The role involves managing daily accounting activities, reconciling accounts, assisting with budgeting, and ensuring the timely and accurate completion of financial transactions. The successful candidate will display a high level of technical competency, problem-solving skills, attention to detail, initiative and organisational skills, and must be able to work independently and get up to speed quickly, given the fixed-term nature of the role.
Key Responsibilities
- Record and maintain financial transactions accurately in the accounting system, including preparing and posting journal entries
- Reconcile bank statements, general ledger accounts and other balance sheet accounts
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring turnaround times and deadlines are appropriately managed
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
- Monitor cash flow and maintain accurate cash records
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies and applicable regulations
- Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules
- Perform other accounting and finance duties as assigned
Qualifications and Education
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
- Strong IT literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software or ERP systems
Experience
- 2 to 5 years' experience in an accounting role
- Experience managing accounts payable, accounts receivable and account reconciliations end to end
- Experience supporting month-end and year-end closing processes
- Experience working in a small to medium enterprise environment
- Experience in financial services or another regulated environment (desirable)
