UAE Residents Remain Resilient Amid Regional Uncertainty
Date Posted:Fri, 15th May 2026
Cigna Healthcare MEA has released findings from a recent dipstick study exploring how UAE residents are navigating ongoing regional uncertainty.
Message from Cigna Healthcare Spokesperson
Leah Cotterill, CEO, Cigna Healthcare Middle East and Africa, said:
The Well-being & Health Pulse in the UAE captures a population with strong well-being foundations, but also a more complex set of pressures shaping everyday health.
Conducted in April 2026 with 380 respondents across the UAE, the study assesses overall wellbeing across six key pillars: physical, mental, financial, social, family, and workplace wellbeing.
Key insights include:
- 79% remain optimistic about the near future
- 89% feel physically safe where they are
- 48% plan to stay in the UAE for more than 10 years
These findings point to strong underlying resilience, with many residents feeling safe, connected, and confident about the future despite regional tensions.
At the same time, the research highlights the continued impact of financial pressures, workplace demands, family responsibilities, and factors such as stress, sleep, and mental resilience on day-to-day wellbeing.
