Move Your Pets Safely Out of The UAE

This guide provides a range of resources to help inform you on how to safely relocate your pet.

DKC Relocations

If you are trying to relocate your pet as soon as possible, or within the next 2-3 weeks, please do contact us to let us know that, and we will prioritise your relocation by sending you our Pet Export Form for completion; along with a list of the documents and the information we'll need from you to get things going.

Importantly, be aware that Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and South Africa require months of planning In order to meet regulatory requirements. so these destinations cannot be handled on short notice.

At this stage, if you are researching travel options only for the future or "just in case", we would very much appreciate it if you let us know that too, and then give us a little time to get back to you properly - perhaps a week or two. At the moment, we must prioritise Those who really do need to leave as soon as possible. We hope you understand.

What follows now is a lot of information which we hope will help you. Please do let us know how and when you might like to, or need to, proceed, and we will help you do that.

 THE COSTS

Exporting a pet comes with many variables, so it is truly impossible for us to cover everything here on the financials without knowing much more about you and your pet's needs and plans.

However, we do have here for you the information we can in good faith reliably give you, including our own service fees. Please do note that we do not add mark-up fees on any third-party charges (such as Ministry fees and air waybills), so all our fees come only and transparently from items referred to as DKC service fees.

Tell us about your pets and their vaccination records. We'll show you every available destination, ranked fastest to slowest, with a complete preparation plan for each.

International pet relocation involves more than just flights. It includes documentation, vaccinations, health certificates, airline compliance and sometimes import permits depending on the destination.

We know that many of us are feeling very concerned right now about the possible options that would be available, should you wish to travel outside of UAE with your pets in the coming days and weeks.

In any scenario where a short notice travel requirement might be necessary for any reason, it is critical to consider following at all times:

  • Ensure your pet has a working Microchip.
  • Your vet can scan to confirm the chip is reading correctly.  It is possible but very rare for chips to stop working, but this is something to keep in mind – your vet should have checked this at your most recent vet visit.
  • Ensure your pet is & remains fully vaccinated (Dogs – Rabies, DHPPi, Leptospiroris & Cats – Rabies, Tri-Cat) and your vaccination documents have been correctly and completely updated by your vet, including all information shown on the vaccination bottle label, vaccination given and vaccination due dates (dd mm yyyy).
  • All vaccinations must be maintained at all times to avoid a subsequent waiting period, over and above the minimum 21 – 30 days after your pets very first vaccination.

It is critical to ensure any vaccination due date is not missed as this will require primary vaccinations to be re-administered and a mandatory waiting period of 21-30 days before travel will be allowed.
