Youth to Pro Tournament

In this article, we wrap up the first ever Youth to Pro tournament featuring the USA, England, Australia and the inaugural champions Ivory Coast!

Here at CBF we have just finished organising our latest international tournament; Youth to Pro. This tournament was a 4 team tournament representing elite nations all from different continents. We had the U17 teams of England, Ivory Coast, USA and Australia all battle it out for the Youth to Pro trophy spanning over 9 days. A week filled with standout moments, leadership from the sidelines, and players showing exactly why they’re the next names to watch. This tournament wasn’t just about results, it was about development, opportunity, and creating a stage for rising talent to shine.

Highlights:

On the opening day we held a special contest between the USA and England in the professional stadium of Al Awir (Shabab Al Ahli). WIth USA taking a 2-0 lead before half-time, England were up against it. England showed no fear as they went on to score the next 5 goals winning the game 5-2 featuring a hat trick from Chelsea youngster Mathis Eboue. Ivory Coast managed victory over Australia on the same day, setting up a fierce match between them and England a few days later. This ended 1-1, with USA beating Australia meaning the title would go down to the final day.

Ivory Coast opened up the final day with a 4-2 win over the USA with only 10 men, showing the passion and competitiveness of the Ivorians. This meant England had to beat Australia in our final stadium game at Al Maktoum Bin Rashid Al Maktoum stadium. England failed to beat Australia with the game ending 1-1, this meant Ivory Coast were crowned the inaugural champions of the Youth to Pro tournament!
