From Your Home to Your Office, From the European Super Cup to DWTC - We All Have A Part to Play

Across the UAE and around the world, businesses are being challenged to think differently about how they consume resources, reduce waste, and create a positive impact on both their local and global community. At No More Bottles, we are proud to help enable this movement, helping companies, event organisers and individuals to take substantial steps towards a more sustainable future.

One of the most important developments driving this change is the rise of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) reporting. The establishment of these frameworks are providing organisations direction in the way to measure and communicate their environmental and social impact alongside financial performance. More than just a reporting tool, ESG is increasingly seen as a catalyst for growth and resilience. Investors, clients and customers now expect more than promises – they want to see tangible action and real results.

Switching from single-use plastic bottles to filtered water dispensers is one measurable action. For companies, this translates into a tangible reduction in plastic waste and carbon emissions, which can be tracked and reported in ESG disclosures. It’s a practical, cost-effective initiative that also demonstrates a visible commitment to a positive change.

The events industry is another area where transformation is taking place. Once known for excess and waste, it is now under pressure to deliver exceptional experiences that are both memorable and responsible. No More Bottles has been part of this transition, providing sustainable hydration solutions that remove the demand for single-use plastic bottles.

Our recent collaboration at the Global Encounters Festival 2025 in Dubai demonstrates the positive action being taken. Over the course of the week long event, we helped avoid the use of more than 82,000 plastic bottles – proof that small  initiatives at scale deliver immense impact. Thousands of attendees experienced first hand how easy it is to refill instead of discard, with every small choice contributing to a much bigger outcome.

Just as important as the numbers is the visibility. When people encounter one of our dispensers – whether in an office, at a concert, or at a sports event – it often sparks the realisation that there is a better, more convenient way forward. The awareness travels with them into their homes and workplaces, creating a ripple effect that extends far beyond the event itself.  From an office that saves 900 bottles to an event saving 80,000 bottles everyone has a part to play.

Sporting events are fantastic opportunities to showcase new initiatives. We love the ethos of the Udinese Bluenergy Stadium in Italy which was showcased at the recent European Super Cup Final.  The stadium is powered exclusively by renewable energy, rather than fossil fuels.  This helps Udinese save approximately 6,500 tonnes of carbon dioxide (C02) from entering the atmosphere the equivalent of removing over 1,500 cars from the roads per year. It demonstrates how sustainability can be woven into everyday operations, from renewable energy integration to eco-friendly infrastructure. It’s a reminder that progress to be achieved it needs to be practical, scalable, and consistent. Other Football Clubs across the Globe are taking note as they are made aware that ESG actions can also harness strong ROI, worldwide admiration and endless opportunities.

Here in the UAE, this movement is reinforced by national initiatives such as the UAE Net Zero 2050 strategy and the legacy of COP28. Both highlight the country’s commitment to becoming a global leader in sustainability and innovation. For companies operating in the region, aligning with these goals is not only about compliance, but about being part of a collective mission that will shape the future of business and society.

At No More Bottles, we believe sustainability is a journey built on progress, not perfection. By providing simple solutions that reduce waste, we’ve seen how quickly people embrace the chance to make a difference. ESG frameworks help organisations capture and share that impact, events showcase what’s possible, and visible alternatives like ours inspire change at an individual and collective level. Together, these elements drive a momentum that extends well beyond any single initiative.
