Conducted under the authority of the UK Department for Education, the BSO inspection evaluates international schools offering the British curriculum against the same rigorous standards applied in the UK. In Arbor’s case, the result was unanimous: Outstanding for teaching and learning, safeguarding, curriculum, leadership, governance, and overall student outcomes.

A British School with a Global and Sustainable Mission

Founded on the pillars of academic excellence, ecoliteracy, and global citizenship, The Arbor School stands out not only for its results, but for its innovative approach to curriculum and purpose-driven leadership.

“We don’t just deliver the British curriculum—we reimagine it for the world our students are inheriting,” says Principal Gemma Thornley.

The inspection team highlighted:

• Exceptional academic progress, with GCSE results well above UK averages
• A cutting-edge, sustainability-infused curriculum rooted in the National Curriculum for England
• A strong wellbeing culture and safeguarding ethos
• Highly trained, forward-thinking teaching staff
• Immersive learning environments, from biodomes to outdoor classrooms

Why It Matters
