My Journey with Menopause – From Struggle to Strength, From Searching to Serving - By Lesley Kidd, The Pathway
Date Posted:Tue, 11th Mar 2025
For years, I searched for answers. I wanted to feel like me again. Navigating menopause and the uncertainty around HRT left me frustrated, disconnected, and questioning everything. I was seeking something deeper—something to anchor me, energise me, and reconnect me with my purpose. And then everything changed.
My husband Stevie often asks, “Did you find yoga… or did yoga find you?”
Today, I finally understand the power of that question.

1. Taking Action: Finding My Own Medicine
For so long, I relied on advice from others, hoping someone else could help me feel whole again. But true transformation began when I stopped waiting—and took ownership of my own well-being. I realised the healing had to start from within.
That’s when I discovered yoga—but also a much deeper journey through The Pathway, a personal development model that helped me understand neurology, mindset, and human potential in ways I had never imagined.

2. Discipline & Commitment: Showing Up for Myself
Growth doesn’t happen by chance. It requires structure, discipline, and unwavering commitment to yourself. I began treating my development with purpose and intention—just like we coach others to do through The Pathway.
Today, my yoga classes are booked eight days in advance—not because I have to, but because this is now part of who I am. It’s no longer a routine—it’s a foundation.

3. Coach & Be Coached: The Power of Support and Self-Leadership
What changed everything for me was understanding that I didn’t have to do this alone. Through The Pathway, I was introduced to coaching at a whole new level—rooted in NLP, self-leadership, emotional intelligence, and authenticity.
Being coached helped me understand the internal patterns, beliefs, and language that had been shaping my life. I began learning the tools to lead myself first—and then help others do the same.

4. Stepping Into Something Greater: RYP International Events
The turning point in my journey came when I decided not just to support others, but to live it for myself. I completed all Reach Your Peak Scotland events, and then went on to climb Kilimanjaro twice in one year, supporting leaders through one of the world’s toughest endurance challenges.
But these events weren’t about mountains—they were metaphors for inner transformation, resilience, and leading from within.

5. Brain Mapping & The Science of Self-Awareness
The deeper work came through brain mapping and neurology-based coaching within The Pathway, where I gained new understanding of what truly lies within us. I could finally see my internal wiring—the emotional, neurological, and subconscious patterns that had shaped me for years.
And through that, I discovered a new version of myself. One that is aligned, empowered, and living in truth.

6. Growth Through Giving: From Purpose to Service
Now, my journey is not just about me. It’s about serving others, helping leaders discover their own breakthroughs, and contributing to something far greater—supporting orphanages and families in Africa, and helping others find purpose beyond performance.
Because growth means nothing unless it’s shared.

From Menopause to Meaning
From struggling with HRT to discovering my passion, this journey has transformed every part of me—mind, body, and soul. I now live with clarity, strength, and purpose. And most importantly, I now know:
My purpose is to grow, to serve, and to help others discover their greatness too.
✨ If you’re waiting for the right moment—this is it. Take one step. The rest will follow.
And one day, like me, you’ll look back and realise that moment was the beginning of everything.

Final Chapter: Expansion of Purpose
Now, through everything I’ve learned and experienced with The Pathway, I find myself in India, in the Himalayan Mountains, completing a one-month Yoga Teacher Training Course, immersed in 500 hours of ancient wisdom, self-discipline, and spiritual practice.
This is not just a course—it’s a deepening of everything The Pathway has shown me.
It has taken me to insights I never imagined possible—where you don’t just grow…
you evolve. You see yourself more clearly, and you see further than you ever thought you could.
And that is the gift I want to pass on to others.
