FOUR HANDS: A Tale of Thai and Mexican Cuisines

Benjarong and La Tablita Present a Thai-Mexican Culinary Collaboration Celebrating Dubai’s Diversity

Dusit Thani Dubai is excited to announce an extraordinary culinary event in Dubai that celebrates the rich cultural diversity of the city by offering the vibrant flavours of Thai cuisine and Mexican cuisine—a prelude to the Mexican National Day celebration. On September 6th and 7th of 2024 (Friday and Saturday), Benjarong Thai Restaurant will host a limited-time, 5-course gourmet dining experience in Dubai that promises to take guests on a gastronomic journey across borders.

This special collaboration features the expertise of Benjarong’s Chef Wichit Panyo and La Tablita’s Chef Manuel Correa, who have joined forces to create a menu that harmoniously marries the intricate tastes of authentic Thai cuisine with the bold, earthy flavours of authentic Mexican cuisine. Priced at AED 299 per person, this exclusive dinner event in Dubai is a celebration of culinary artistry and culture, where every dish is a testament to the chefs' passion and dedication to their craft.

A Culinary Journey Across Borders

The 5-course menu crafted by the combined talents of Chef Wichit and Chef Manuel is a symphony of flavours that seamlessly blends the aromatic spices of Thailand with the smoky, tangy notes of Mexico. Guests will be treated to a selection of premium dishes that highlight the chefs’ creativity and expertise.

Begin your journey with an Amuse-Bouche Duo from La Tablita and Benjarong, followed by the Tord Man Goong, a Thai prawn cake crusted with black quinoa and accompanied by homemade peanut curry. For a taste of Mexico, enjoy the Scallop Tostada featuring a corn tortilla topped with sealed scallop and caviar, or the Seabass Ceviche, a fresh and zesty combination of seabass, onion, tomato, lime, red chili oil, and mango.

The main courses offer a showcase from both cultures, including the Short Rib & Mole Poblano, a rich and savory dish with traditional mole sauce made from dried chili, nuts, and chocolate, and Gai Muan Sauce Lae Mang-Khud, featuring chicken sous vide with crab meat egg ball, finished with orange Thai red curry and served with Thai mangosteen and Benjarong rice.

The experience culminates with a delightful dessert: the Platano con Dulce de Leche x Benjarong Sticky Rice, a harmonious blend of grilled Platano banana and pandan sticky rice filled with local date lava.
