Lumina H1 update: Partner promotions, 58% UK market growth, 2024 insights
Date Posted:Mon, 29th Apr 2024
We are delighted to report our H1 2024 update, to 31 March, in which we saw significant growth in our UK client base transacting in the Middle East region - up 58% on a like for like basis, buoyed by our London office. Other highlights include:
•In February and March, client events at the Waldorf Astoria DIFC and The Connaught Hotel in London, examined the key dealmaking themes between the UK and Mid East, where we were delighted to welcome a total of 150+ guests. For key takeaways of both seminars click here Dubai London
•Transaction themes in H1 show a marked shift towards private equity/private credit and the shift to management buyouts becoming increasingly popular in the region – deal drivers being spin-offs of niche businesses as a result of succession planning, continued restructuring and the focus of building of regional champions in key sectors
•We also note an increasing number of Internationals re-assessing their focus on key strategic sectors in the Middle East region such as infrastructure services, supply chain and food security, AI and data centres, and energy transition related activity, with over $1tn committed by regional governments to achieve population goals, create local employment and skills and pioneer some of the most advanced initiatives in digital transformation.
•Our 2024 Cross-Border M&A insights paper was well received, with coverage across Bloomberg and CNBC.
•Partner promotions - we are delighted to announce Gareth Williams’ promotion to Partner and his move to Lumina’s London office to focus on significantly growing our UK business.
Lumina now has a combined experience of over 150 years in the Middle East and the UK markets and we use our deep market knowledge and access to deliver superior outcomes for our clients transacting between the two regions. To learn more about how Lumina can support your business and transactions across the UK/Mid East investment corridor, I would be delighted to have a discussion.
