The COP28 Presidency is now engaging with the private sector to deliver tangible results on the nature agenda. The COP28 Team is calling on the business community to come forward with their plans on where they are on their nature positive journey ahead of Dubai. Below is a message, which we are sharing on their behalf that includes a link to a survey that you are asked to please take the time to complete:

Following business roundtables and meetings at the Africa Climate Summit, UNGA and MENACW, we are now eager to kindly request your assistance in mobilziing businesses under the Nature Positive for Climate Action call to action in the last stretch before COP28.

COP28 in the UAE will be calling on the business landscape to drive a positive loop of ambition and deliver on climate and nature goals. The private sector is fundamental to these efforts. We need your support and leadership to bring the private sector on board at scale, and we are delighted to work closely with you on this. As a joint initiative between the COP28 Presidency and the High-level Climate Champions, we kindly request your help in circulating this call to action to all your members and help us track efforts of entities as they embark on – or accelerate – their Nature Positive for Climate Action journey.

Please find attached the Letter addressed to businesses urging them to join the call to action, signed by our High-level Climate Champion, HE Razan Al Mubarak, and the COP28 President-Designate, Dr. Sultan Al Jaber. Also find attached the supplementary information note that accompanies the letter.

In parallel, we are running a baseline survey to identify where organizations are in their nature positive for climate action journey. To take the survey follow this link The results of this survey will help us identify the challenges and opportunities that the private sector is facing, as well as the leaders and front-runners on this agenda who can be platformed at COP28.

Thank you in advance for your support.

We look forward to hearing from you.

All the best,

The Nature Team at COP28 and Climate Champions Team
