Aurora50 was co-founded by Sheikha Shamma bint Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan and Diana Wilde in 2020 as a diversity, equity and inclusion training company with the vision of achieving gender balance in the workplace.

Aurora50 runs a 12-month board accelerator, Pathway20, to help women get listed board seats, and holds monthly half-day workshops on subjects such as AI, ESG or corporate governance. These generally alternate between Dubai and Abu Dhabi. There will be further events held on a monthly basis when Aurora50 launches its network for corporate women managers, Noora, in the autumn.

Its big two-day event, The Inclusion Summit, will be attended by hundreds of C-suite executives and board directors in October and succeeds The Board Summit, which previously ran annually.

Aurora50 also hosts and runs occasional events with partners - such as International Women’s Day with Du and TAQA or Mental Health Awareness Month with InvestCorp.

Aurora50’s content strategist is an experienced journalist who previously worked in the UAE but is now UK-based and part-time. She is looking for help on the ground reporting from Aurora50’s workshops and events, writing summary blog posts from conversations on the stage (key quotes, topics and stats) and potentially interviews before or after events with key speakers.

Having been let down by our pre-booked freelancer, we would love to trial a journalist at our Pathway20 workshop on AI for board directors in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday 12 July from 9am-2pm.
