01 July 2022 – New Instructions on Calculating Work Permit Quota Allocation in the Mainland

The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE) has released new instructions on calculating work permit quota allocation for employers in the mainland.

According to the new instructions, work permit quota allocation in the mainland now depends on the following conditions:

• whether the business has been registered in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) before or after April 15, 2022;
• the employer’s business activities; and
• the employer’s compliance with all applicable UAE labour regulations.
