HSBC'S First Global ESG Sentiment Survey - March 2022

The HSBC Global Head of ESG Research and the team have published findings of our first ESG Sentiment Survey

 

The survey was conducted last month, with a sample size of 588 ESG decision makers working in financial services across the globe.

  • Our first environmental, social and governance survey shows wide regional differences in terms of ESG understanding, incorporation and perception
  • Climate change took the fore, but a broad range of social issues matter to respondents, as does board and culture in governance
  • Regulations are important, but investors believe they themselves will move most quickly to drive sustainability
