Author Suat Ozsoy Launches book 'Product Marketing Management: How to Become Most Influential Person in your Company'

Product Marketing Management function in the international company environment. The book provides simple steps for you to consider to shine at your workplace and become one of the most influential person in your company.

 

You have recently published a book on Product Marketing Management, could you tell us a bit about the book and how this came about
My background is Product Management and in few companies that I’ve worked for as well as from the interviews that I’ve personally had , I’ve recognised it is a field that is not well understood from employers as well as from employees. For example we didn’t have a course related to it when we were at business school. If you are in sales , finance or accounting , it is easier to select the employees from employers point of view. I’ve asked the question around how actually do you decide to become a Product marketing manager, in my case it was luck, then I thought maybe writing a book about it can help to those who are willing to work in multinational companies and don’t know much about this field.

I hope few of the ideas in the book will help to those who are willing to work in the field.

What has been the biggest challenge of your career or of publishing this book?
In my career , I had to restart in different locations with new roles , flexibility and adaptability are required in many field in today’s work life but with family it is always difficult to move around. We recently moved to Dubai and it has been tough move during pandemic

What has been the most rewarding part?
I think for me the most rewarding part to see the career development in return of the time and the energy that you spend for the career . I have been fortunate enough to receive good recognition from my company over the past years and I also am coaching the new members to grow their confidence with their roles and responsibilities. Actually , the book is a link to it to share the ideas with wider circles to influence 1 or 2 people to help to grow their career.

Do you have any advice for anyone who might want to follow in your footsteps?
I would recommend for everyone to have a good self assessment and focus on the weak parts of your skills set at the beginning of the career and then later on making the basic things consistently good will help you to grow your career. For book writing , focus and commitment is key point as it takes quite a time to say what your want to say with a good story.
