Legend of the Seas Begins Her European Summer Season

Following an exclusive inaugural voyage for invited media, travel partners, and Royal Caribbean teams, Legend of the Seas officially welcomes her first guests on 4 July 2026, marking the start of her inaugural European summer season.

The newest addition to Royal Caribbean's revolutionary Icon Class will sail 7-night Western Mediterranean itineraries from Barcelona, Spain, and Rome (Civitavecchia), Italy, through October 2026, bringing the cruise line's latest innovations and experiences to one of the world's most sought-after cruise regions.

As the third ship in the award-winning Icon Class, Legend of the Seas builds on the success of her sister ships while introducing new dining concepts, original entertainment, innovative accommodations, and signature neighbourhoods designed to redefine the modern family vacation at sea. Following her official delivery from Meyer Turku shipyard in Finland, the ship now embarks on her first European season before repositioning to Fort Lauderdale later this year for Caribbean itineraries.

Built on the Success of Icon Class

Legend of the Seas builds on the success of Icon of the Seas and Star of the Seas, while introducing several new experiences exclusive to the vessel. Designed around eight immersive neighborhoods, the ship offers attractions and experiences tailored to families, couples, and multigenerational travelers, continuing Royal Caribbean's vision of redefining the modern vacation at sea.

Among the ship's highlights are seven pools, Category 6 – the largest waterpark at sea, the AquaDome entertainment district, Central Park featuring more than 30,000 real plants, the Royal Promenade, and The Pearl, the world's largest kinetic art sculpture at sea. Guests can also experience signature attractions including Crown's Edge, FlowRider, rock climbing, mini golf, and a wide range of family-friendly activities.

New Dining and Entertainment Experiences

Legend of the Seas introduces several exclusive experiences to the Icon Class portfolio. New dining venues include the elegant Hollywoodland Supper Club, inspired by classic Hollywood glamour, Royal Railway – Legend Station, an immersive multi-course dining journey, and AquaDome Market, a vibrant food hall offering globally inspired cuisine. Together with returning favorites, the ship offers more than 40 ways to dine and drink, providing guests with one of the most diverse culinary selections at sea.

Entertainment has also been elevated with original theatre productions, AquaTheater performances, ice shows, live music, and family entertainment designed to appeal to guests of all ages. These experiences continue Royal Caribbean's tradition of bringing Broadway-calibre productions and immersive storytelling to sea.

Innovation Meets Sustainability

Beyond guest experiences, Legend of the Seas reflects Royal Caribbean's continued investment in more sustainable cruising. Powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG), the ship incorporates advanced environmental technologies including waste heat recovery systems and shore power connectivity, supporting the company's broader sustainability ambitions while improving operational efficiency.

A New European Flagship

Legend of the Seas will spend her inaugural summer season sailing 7-night Western Mediterranean itineraries from Barcelona, Spain, and Rome (Civitavecchia), Italy, visiting some of Europe's most sought-after destinations before repositioning to Fort Lauderdale later in the year for Caribbean cruises.

The launch represents another milestone in Royal Caribbean's continued expansion of the Icon Class and highlights the growing importance of Europe as a premier cruise destination. With its combination of innovative attractions, immersive entertainment, diverse dining, and destination-focused itineraries, Legend of the Seas is set to become one of the most talked-about cruise ships of 2026.
