Thanks for Helping Us Build a Safer Community

Another fantastic Ocean Warriors season has come to an end, and we’d like to take a moment to thank everyone who has helped make this year such a success. From our youngest Waterbabies and Nippers taking their first steps towards becoming confident in and around the water, to our Junior Lifeguards and adult members developing advanced surf lifesaving skills, it has been a season full of learning, laughter and achievement.

We’re incredibly proud to celebrate another group of Ocean Warriors who have successfully achieved their official Surf Life Saving GB lifesaving qualifications, alongside our youngest Nippers, who have earned their Ocean Warriors Water Safety Awareness Certificates. Every certificate represents more than just a milestone - it reflects growing confidence, teamwork, resilience and practical skills that could one day help save a life.

We were also delighted to round off the season by taking part in the Sea You Festival at Terra, Expo City Dubai, where our coaches and volunteers spent the weekend introducing families to essential water safety and lifesaving skills. Through hands-on demonstrations of CPR, rescue tubes, rescue boards, life rings and practical beach safety advice, it was fantastic to see so many children eager to get involved, ask questions and learn skills that could one day make a real difference.

We were talking about this live on Dubai Eye this week, and offering our thoughts and advice following the recent story of a stranger who saved the life of a 5 year old boy who was drowning in a Dubai pool.

None of this would be possible without the incredible support we’ve received over the past year. We’d like to thank the British Chamber of Commerce Dubai community for welcoming us so warmly, our dedicated coaching team and volunteers who generously give their time each week, the parents and families who spend their weekends supporting us on the beach, and, of course, our amazing Ocean Warriors, whose enthusiasm, determination and smiles make every session so rewarding.

While we’re taking a short summer break, preparations are already underway for another exciting season. Registrations are now open for our Autumn Term, from 11 September to 13 December, with programmes available for everyone aged 3 through to adult. As Dubai’s outdoor season returns and the weather becomes perfect for beach activities, there’s no better time to learn essential ocean skills, develop water safety awareness, build confidence and enjoy being part of our supportive beach community.

As the first Surf Lifesaving GB club established outside the UK and the only Royal Life Saving Society UK (RLSS UK) accredited club in the UAE, we’re proud to bring internationally recognised surf lifesaving training to Dubai, helping build a safer and more confident community around the water, and we can’t wait to welcome returning members and new families back to the beach for another season of learning, friendship and lifesaving fun.
